Counselling can be beneficial for anyone seeking support, guidance, or a safe space to explore their thoughts and emotions. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or in need of someone to talk to, counselling can provide valuable insights and help you navigate life's challenges.
Cash and Bank Transfer are accepted.
Not at all. Psychotherapy is for anyone who wants to gain a greater
understanding of the underlying reasons for their own behavior in order to
do things differently. Insight oriented psychotherapy offers long-lasting
change in the way you see yourself in the world so you can live a happier,
more satisfying life. This includes feeling able to tackle any problems or
challenges you are facing. People who ask for help know when they need it
and have the courage to reach out. Everyone needs help at times. In our
work together, we will help you explore and identify your strengths and how
to implement them to reduce the influence of the problems you are facing.
In a counselling session, we'll create a comfortable and non-judgmental space where you can freely express yourself. We'll engage in meaningful conversations, explore your concerns, and work together towards understanding and personal growth. You'll have the opportunity to reflect, gain fresh perspectives, and develop strategies to address your challenges.
The short answer is it depends. Everyone who braves the space to engage in therapy is different. Their combination of struggles, stage of life, identities, and circumstances are unique to them alone. Thus, the length of time therapy can take to allow you to accomplish your goals depends in some part on your desire for personal development, your commitment, and the factors that are driving you to seek counselling in the first place. Some people find resolution and relief in a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. We'll regularly review your progress on how you feel our work is going and the progress you are making and collaborate to determine the most appropriate timeframe for your counselling journey.
Absolutely. Confidentiality is a fundamental aspect of counselling. As professional counsellors, we adhere to strict ethical guidelines that prioritise your privacy and confidentiality. Rest assured that your personal information and the content of our sessions will be kept strictly confidential, except in situations where there is a legal or ethical obligation to disclose information.
Your comfort and well-being are our top priorities. We understand that certain topics may be sensitive or difficult to discuss. Please know that you have complete control over what you choose to share. We will work at a pace that feels comfortable for you, and we will support you in exploring and addressing your concerns in a way that feels safe and empowering.
Scheduling a counselling session is easy. You can reach out to us through the contact information provided on the website, and we'll find a convenient time that works for both of us. We strive to be responsive and will do our best to accommodate your scheduling needs.
Definitely. We offer online counselling sessions via a secure video platform like Zoom, providing a convenient and accessible option for clients. Online counselling allows you to receive support from the comfort of your own space, without the need for travel or face-to-face appointments.
If you are concerned about your relationship, and you would both like to work with us, we would initially work with both of you together. After this work, if one of you would like to continue in individual sessions, we could work with only one of you. It is not helpful to move from an individual into a couple's work with the same therapist because of potential trust issues.
Medication can be effective but it alone is not a cure for all. What medication does is treat the symptoms. Sometimes medication is needed in conjunction with therapy. Our work together is designed to explore the root of the issue, unpacking the problems you are experiencing and expanding on the strengths that can help you accomplish your personal and/or relational goals.
We are so glad you are dedicated to getting the most out of your sessions.
Multiple things:
The difference is between someone who can do something, and someone who has the training and experience to do that same thing professionally. A mental health professional can help you approach your situation in a new way – teach you new skills, gain different perspectives, listen to you without judgement or expectations, and help you listen to yourself.
Furthermore, therapy is completely confidential. You won’t have to worry about others “knowing my business.” Lastly, if your situation provokes a great deal of negative emotion, if you’ve been confiding in a friend or family member, there is the risk that once you are feeling better you could start avoiding that person so you aren’t reminded of this difficult time in your life.
Absolutely. You have the autonomy to end counselling whenever you feel it is appropriate for you. It's important for our therapeutic relationship to be built on trust and respect, and part of that is honouring your decision-making process. However, if possible, we recommend having a planned ending session to ensure closure and reflect on your progress throughout our therapeutic journey together.
If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to provide the support and guidance you need on your counselling journey. We look forward to hearing from you!
